April 2008: Above are Jenny & Peter McMahon (Lameroo) in their dry clothes, with an original ‘Fuzzy Wuzzy' Mr Ovoru Idiki (Naduri Village) in Papua New Guinea on the 21st April 2008, whilst walking The Kokoda Track. Jenny & Peter walked the track between 11th and 26th April 2008. Peter has walked the Track previously with his father-in-law Peter Needs in 2006. Peter said “This time was definitely more challenging as it was the wet season; extremely muddy, wet conditions, roaring rivers with scary log crossings and making it treacherous under foot the whole time!” An emotional ANZAC service was attended on the Friday in Port Moresby where they witnessed the beautifully kept memorial grounds which is also home to 3000 interned Australian Soldiers that died during the New Guinea war effort. Jenny & Peter both spoke of the 'Fuzzy Wuzzy' natives as the most beautiful, kind, gentle people who 'hung by our shoulders the whole time...you'd know there would be a tough part of the Track coming up when you felt them at your back!!' When daughter Kim asked Peter if he'd like to go with her for a third time he replied 'Call me when you have done it.' Jenny's quote on the journey "It was all that I expected it to be and more.....I don't know where else I could go in the world to equal this experience. It was heaven and hell all at once. ...you cannot begin to imagine how difficult it must have been for those young men in1942.”
August 2007: G'day Lameroo...I am currently on a tour of duty in the Gulf with The Royal Australian Navy. This picture is a 7.2m rigid hull inflatable (RHIF) capable of 32 knots. We are coming back from a security sweep of an oil tanker & our inflatable is used for security patrols of ships like fishing vessels etc along our sector adjacent to Iran's border. I Promise I have my Hawks training singlet under my bullet proof vest!!! I religiously log onto the website on weekends & hope you can go all the way in the finals. Go Hawks. Catch you all back on terra firma soon. Thomo...
July 2007: Hello there to our favourite Aussie Rules Footy Club...the Lameroo Hawks...We are standing in front of our favourite Pommy Football (Soccer) Club...Leeds United...much to the disgust of our Hawks son PK!!! We have been avidly following the Hawks progress through out the year via your amazing website. Good luck in the finals boys and hope to visit Australia again in the near future...From Mr & Mrs Bob & Pauline Kendall...PS nice goal in the B Grade PK...we love you...
June 2007: "As I promised...The Hawks in The Cooke Islands...What a cruisey place to visit...I guess I will see you all in two weeks" Tom "Belly" Bell.
June 2007: "Here I am, standing in front of BIG BEN, one of the many tourist attractions in London. As you can see I am proudly wearing my Hawks Beanie!! PS website looks great & keeps me informed of how good our B Grade is doing." Brendan Toogood.
May 2007: "Hello Lameroo, it's Cathy Webster (Heather Pearce's sister). I am standing in nearly four foot of snow with The Niagara River (Niagara, Canada) in the background. I swear I have my HAWK'S shirt on under my ski jacket...but only a fool would dare to brave these conditions in a t-shirt!!

May 2007: I am standing on Blackcomb Mountain at Whistler Resort in Vancouver (British Columbia...Canada). This run is called "Honeycomb" and I am standing at 2000 feet above sea level. Although the sun is shining a little, it is still minus 15 degrees!! P.S. Website is great, I log onto it every weekend to find out Lameroo's scores. Lachy Abbott.

March 2007: "What a great day, strolling down Revolution Boulevard in Tijuana Mexico in my Hawks shirt, smoking a Cuban cigar after a big feed of chilli and a couple of margaritas and having my photo taken with a donkey called "Junior" who for some strange reason was painted like a zebra." Greg "Muddy" Haslam.
